1. Skimming
    Mencari informasi keseluruhan dengan cepat dalam bacaan.
     Keunggulannya :
     • read more quickly (membaca lebih cepat drpada umumnya)
     • to decide main idea in reading text (untuk menentukan ide pokok dari bacaan)
     • 3 to 4 faster then regular reading (lebih cepat 3 sampai 4 kali dibanding pada umumnya)
     • use when there is a lot of  material in short time (berguna saat digunakan untuk membaca bacaan yang banyak dalam waktu yang singkat)

    How to skim? 
1. Read the first and last paragraph
2. Read heading, subheading, tittles, subtittles, & ilustrations 
3. Read first sentence in every paragraph
4. Lebih baik perhatikan tanggal, nama, dan tempat
5. JANGAN BACA SEMUA KATA


2. Scanning
    Teknik membaca dengan mencari kata kunci dari bacaan. Teknik membaca scanning dapat dilakukan apabila mencari informasi dalam suatu bacaan. Dalam scanning kita hanya perlu mencari info yang kita butuhkan, tidak perlu memperdulikan ide pokok dsb. Scanning biasanya dilakukan saat ujian dan tes yang memiliki bacaan
